I conceptualized and produced a comprehensive promotional magazine for The Gambia Chef Association, designed to build excitement for their hosting of the prestigious West Africa Food Festival (WAFFEST) in 2026. The publication was crafted to inspire national pride, attract international delegates, and showcase the Association’s legacy and ambitions.
The magazine blended dynamic visuals of culinary creations with compelling narratives, highlighting the Association’s history, executive team, past championship wins, and the detailed program for WAFFEST 2026. It served as a multi-purpose tool, functioning as a delegate guide, a sponsorship prospectus, and a vibrant celebration of Gambian cuisine and culture, featuring must-try dishes and local tourism attractions.
This project demonstrated my ability to synthesize complex information, from event logistics to cultural storytelling, into a cohesive and visually engaging publication that strengthens a professional brand and promotes a nation on the international stage.
At the prestigious WAFFEST 2025 competition, The Gambia Chef Association further solidified its reputation as a culinary powerhouse by securing top honors in multiple categories. The delegation demonstrated exceptional skill and versatility, earning the Silver Award for Bread Making, a testament to their mastery of fundamental baking techniques and artistry.
Furthermore, the team achieved a remarkable double victory by also winning the Cold Vegan Jollof Competition. This win is particularly significant, as it showcases their ability to innovate and excel with complex, modern dishes, reinventing a West African classic with creative, plant-based ingredients that impressed the judges.
These victories not only add new, glittering chapters to the association’s legacy of excellence but also powerfully highlight the diversity and sophistication of Gambian cuisine on the regional stage.
